So, tell the PQ readership five (5) facts about Aroon people don't know?
1. Well first I'm mixed. My father is Jamaican and my mother is Irish.
2. I've lived in so many different homes, I've lost count.
3. While attending Rollins College I played volleyball for two (2) years.
4. I used to volunteer at a primate sanctuary and I loved it!
5. I'm originally from Ketchikan Alaska.
If you weren't modeling, what would you see yourself doing?
Working in advertising.
What's your favorite photos shoot to date?
My favorite shoots are anything done on the beach in general. I love being outdoors and shooting beach wear.
Do you have any pets?
I have a 2 1/2 year old rescue, named Finn
Was modeling something you always wanted to do or did it just kind of happen?
I've kind of always liked it, but it didn't really start to be an idea until my sophomore year in college
What's the best and the worst thing about being a model?
The best thing is being able to work for myself and meeting a ton of new people. I find modeling can also be tough because sometimes you'll be swamped for a week straight and then have a week off. It can be inconsistent sometimes. And I'm a workaholic.
Do you ever get shy in front of the camera?
Not really! I'm always down to shoot whatever and I think its fun to do something that may take me out of my comfort zone.
How would you describe your posing when working with a photographer?
I would say I'm constantly moving, posing on my own. While taking direction from the photographer. I love coming up with ideas for shots and poses in the moment.
How did you get discovered or how did your modeling career get started?
It all started with my blog www.aroonmelane.com
What do you think about the show "Top Model"?
I think it's cool; I used to watch it all the time when I was little. But most of the time it seems like those girls never end up going anywhere after the show.
What are five things that you cannot live without?
1. My dog

Who are some of your favorite fashion models and why?
So, cliché... I know, but Gigi Hadid is one of my favorites. She started off not being the tiniest stick model, and ended up being the international model of the year. Goals!

What are some of your main interests and hobbies?
I love beach volleyball, working out, I also love the ocean, so surfing or paddle boarding, Another love of mine is rollerblading but I don't do it anymore because I hurt myself ha-ha.
Describe your personal style and where do you pull your inspiration from?
I have so many different styles. But I like to think I have a simple but trendy style. Always pulling inspiration from current trends and simplifying them.
Out of all the photos you have taken describe which is your favorite and why?
My favorites are some of the first photos I did with Carlos Velez, he's just an amazing photographer
Do you have any other hidden talents?
Hidden, hmm idk!
What advice do you have for other aspiring models?
Never give up! People will tell you no time and time again, but it's that one time they say yes that makes a difference. And you can't be shy!
How do you prepare for a photo shoot?
The night before is when I prepare, I shave and exfoliate my whole body, and usually do a face mask and massage my face with rose hip oil before bed. I'll also drink as much water as I can the day before, at minimum a gallon of water and try to minimize sugars.
When and why did you get started in modeling?
I really started modeling a little over a year ago and it I got started in it because of my blog :)
