In Samantha's 15 years experience of professional creative work, she continues to question what is you versus everything else that you’ve been influenced by?

Her latest body of work delves into the intersection of fashion, healing, somatic awareness and designing desire. More than a creative practice, Samantha's process is a ritual of personal transformation. At its core community -- a space where expression healing and style converge.

“My approach is that I always try to find myself in other people because I think one way or another we all reflect each other - because no matter the relationship type we are always exploring what it means, what’s the purpose of it, why it showed up, why someone was drawn to you ect. I have somewhat of an analytics mind so I try to explore my deeper emotions in my work.

Although Fera Poppies is based off me - it isn’t at all about me (even though I model for it as well) our brand is about bringing people together on a global scale that wouldn’t normally connect and intersecting stories and shared realities together. The direction is to always go back to yourself - and that is what brings out my best work into fruition for everyone to connect with. The older I get the more I learn and the more you learn the less you know. Life is sort of a paradox in that sense.

Throughout the years of knowing my mother she was always saying “I don’t know what I want to be when I grow up” and I’d think, “when you grow up? You’re already grown up” and so at a very young age I saw that we are always hiding and at the same time trying to be seen and heard.

Often I have a loose idea about how the scene I’m creating should go and then when the model shows up I let them kinda guide me because that brings out their truest essence - lots of times they ask me what poses and what they should do and I just say well what’s natural for you? And then often they’ll feel a little awkward and then look to me and I do what’s natural for me and then they’ll reflect back what’s natural for them. It’s a beautiful dance between creative director and talent.” -PQ
